The Wind In The Willows

Sunday 7th May

A classic tale for kids and big kids alike, this performance of the classic tale breathes life into our favourite riverside wildlife. Join us for a whirlwind ride through the seasons as Ratty, Mole and Badger follow the impulsive Toad on his hapless misadventures.

Bringing the era back to life from the excitement and energy of the dawn of the motor car to the serene beauty of an easy river-side existence. Based on the bedtime stories that Kenneth Grahame imagined for his son Alexander, The Wind in the Willows was first published in 1908 and soon became a firm favourite of children and adults alike. Although never performed by the author, the tale has been adapted, reimagined and republished in various forms for stage and screen.

This one-man performance of the story comes from Vintage Verse’s condensed version of the original 1908 text. It has not been adapted or reworded, just a little snip here and there, a few sounds and an old travel trunk help to tell the tale.
