Welcome to BOAT

BOAT is back and better than ever this summer! Following two years of significant disruption, we’re making up for lost time with a bumper 6-month summer season in 2022. For the first time ever, our season kicks off in April, just in time for the Easter holidays.

We’ve got something for everyone, with stand-up comedy, drag and music shows dotted throughout the season, with some returning favourites along with new faces. Family entertainment is also in abundance, with big names such as David Walliams’ Awful Auntie and Horrible Histories: Terrible Tudors, as well as original touring and local productions.

The Brighton Fringe in May gives us the opportunity to programme some of the most exciting, up-and-coming theatre companies in the UK, with everything from hard-hitting drama to laugh-out-loud comedies. Annual staples Brighton Little Theatre return with The Railway Children in August, as do Sarah Mann Company with Waiting For God. The Richard Bean classic One Man, Two Guvnors and the original family musical Battle Song are also here for several shows in the summer holidays.

It wouldn’t be an outdoor theatre season without a healthy dose of Shakespeare, and this year we have four brilliant options: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet (The Comedy), Othello, and the very welcome return of Shakespeare’s Globe with Julius Caesar.

In addition to all of this, we have improvisation, opera, musicals, dance and so much more. All shows are on sale now – you can view the programme and book tickets here or download our brochure here.

So pack your picnic, don your sunglasses, and join us in Dyke Road Park for another summer of fabulous outdoor entertainment.
