Shakespeare's Globe presents

The Tempest

Thursday 20th August
Saturday 22nd August

Following the UK Government and Society of London Theatre’s official guidance, Shakespeare’s Globe have made the decision to close for the foreseeable future which unfortunately means that the scheduled Globe on Tour performances are cancelled.

From our partners at Shakespeare’s Globe:

“We hope you understand it has been difficult for us to decide how to navigate our way forwards during this unprecedented time. It has been overwhelming to see all of your messages of support, and everyone here at the Globe is truly grateful to see all the love for our wooden O. Shakespeare’s Globe has taken the difficult decision to close our doors to the public until further notice, ceasing performances, education activities and tours. As you can imagine this has been one of the hardest decisions we have had to make, but a necessary one as we consider the safety and wellbeing both of the public staff and volunteers.  Whilst our doors are closed. our hearts, minds and imaginations are very much open, and we are finding and creating ways to stay connected and hopeful with you.”

BOAT apologises for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause, but fully supports the Globe’s decision to safeguard its cast, crew, and audience. All ticket holders have been contacted.

As an alternative, we ask that you please consider purchasing tickets for another production at BOAT this summer. In these hugely difficult time, freelance artists and small charitable companies will bear much of the brunt of the economic impact caused by COVID-19. If you are healthy and able to visit our theatre, please consider one of the many options our programme has to offer.

Doors open 1 hour before the performance starts
