Charlotte Glasson is proud to present the annual ‘Sunday in the Park with Jazz’ Event at Brighton Open Air Theatre. We have 2 wonderful bands for you ‘Fat Tuesday 2nd Line band,’ and Terry Packs ‘Bonsai Trees.’ Each band will play a one hour set.
Born of the wild sea pounding against the weird, wild and wonderful Hastings based FT2L is a Sussex anomaly. A tasty straight up Louisiana 7 piece greasy chicken dinner o deep fried party jams and a completely mobile Treme style brass band bust up a sticky gumbo of flashy flaming old school classics. Choo-Choo chugging brass bombastic bass drum ra-ta-tat-tastic snare and the often imitated but recently fumigated master of megaphone ceremony – the good reverend Dr Savage.
Bonsai Trees is a new project that has evolved from Trees, the brainchild of Brighton based bassist and composer Terry Pack. Expect an eclectic mix of contemporary groove based compositions alongside more experimental jazz. The band will feature the cream of local jazz musicians.
