Open-Air Poetry Slam

Hammer and Tongue is a nationwide family of slam poets and spoken word artists. For the third year running, they bring the regional final of their infamous slam poetry contest into the open air!

Finalists will come equipped with their unique styles and perspectives to battle it out for the crown, and lucky audience members will hold up scores out of ten to decide the fate of our our brave poets. It’s sure to be an epic battle of words, syntax, rhyme and meter like no other!

Featuring headliner Cecilia Knapp (Young People’s Laureate for London 20/21) and hosted by Leanne Shorley, join us for the best in spoken word and performance poetry from Brighton’s longest-running poetry slam.
