The Brighton Beach Boys presents

Brighton Beach Boys’ Life Of Brian (Wilson)

The audience watch the Brighton Beach Boys at Brighton Open Air Theatre.

Sunday 21st September 2:00pm

The Brighton Beach Boys return to round off the summer with Life of Brian, a tribute to Brian Wilson, the composer behind The Beach Boys’ songs. Dance along to hits including God Only Knows, I Get Around, Surfin’ Safari, Little Deuce Coupe and lots more.

Brian Wilson revolutionised popular music through groundbreaking production techniques and sophisticated compositions. As the band’s principal songwriter, arranger and producer, Wilson transformed the recording studio into an instrument itself, culminating in the groundbreaking Good Vibrations—a “pocket symphony” that pushed the boundaries of recording technology.

His masterpiece Pet Sounds (1966) redefined pop music with its complex arrangements and emotional depth, influencing artists like The Beatles, who cited it as inspiration for Sgt. Pepper. Wilson’s innovative use of unconventional instruments, novel microphone placements and intricate vocal harmonies set new standards for music production.

Though mental health challenges sidelined him for decades, Wilson’s legacy endures. The 2004 completion of his abandoned masterwork Smile provided a triumphant conclusion to his story.

The Brighton Beach Boys’ Life of Brian showcases the legacy of one of popular music’s most influential creators, whose artistic vision elevated the genre to unprecedented heights.
